Our Mission
EMCC establishes the foundation for lifelong learning by providing a positive, supportive, and scientifically prepared environment that cultivates an understanding and appreciation of the world beyond the classroom.
Our Values
Individualized Education
Children are encouraged to work at their own pace through the use of self-directed, hands-on activities that cultivate the joy of learning.
Power and Agency
Children are given the freedom to find their own voice, and to advocate for themselves and others in both academic and social matters.
Respect and Responsibility
A sense of community is promoted by modeling healthy and respectful relationships, teaching emotional literacy, and encouraging personal responsibility.
Inclusivity
Children and their families vary in cultural backgrounds, family structures, and gender orientations. All will be treated with respect and dignity, and be represented in the classroom and its materials.
Nonprofit Model
EMCC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit cooperative, which is a different structure than many early childhood education programs. It’s a great model that allows you a seat at the decision-making table, greater transparency, and true collaboration between our staff, parents, and the children in our community.
Nondiscrimination Policy
EMCC does not discriminate based on religion, race, color, national origin, ethnic origin, sex, disability, family, marital or financial status, height or weight. All students and families will be given the same rights, privileges, availability to programs, and activities generally accorded to or made available at the school. As long as it is within our guidelines, EMCC will do what is within our powers to meet the needs of all employees and families.
